Facebook is still a place for posting or finding good quality videos. And sometimes, you might come across a video or two that you want to save either to watch them later, add to your collection, or repost to other platforms.

Facebook doesn’t give you an official way to save videos to your computer or phone gallery unless you are the uploader and you request a copy of your data from the Account settings. But there are some easy workarounds to save a Facebook video to computer, Android, or iPhone. In this article, we’ll explore a few workarounds to do so.

How To Save Facebook Video to iPhone, Android, Mac, or PC

How to save Facebook Video (or Live Video) to Android, iPhone, or computer

There are primarily two types of videos you can upload on Facebook:

  • Regular videos that can be streamed after the full video has been uploaded
  • Live Videos that you can stream Live on Facebook while recording them

To save a Facebook (Live or regular) video, the whole video should be available readily on the Facebook servers. Once a video has been uploaded completely or a live stream has ended, you have a few options to save the video.

  1. You could save (bookmark) them in your profile to find and watch them later.
  2. You could save them offline to your device by downloading & converting them to MP4.

Let’s now explore how to save Facebook videos.

Save Facebook video to your personal collection (Official Method)

Officially, there is an option to save Facebook videos on both the Facebook app and website. This is more like a bookmark feature that enables you to come back to a particular video later. When you save a video on Facebook, it gets added to the Saved section of your profile.

To save a video that you found interesting, do the following:

  1. Open the Facebook app or website on your iPhone, Android phone, or computer. Ensure you’re logged in to your Facebook account.
  2. Scroll through your Facebook Feed and find the video that you want to save.
  3. Tap on the three dots from the top-right corner of the particular post.
  4. Tap Save Post from the available options.
  5. Under “Save To”, Tap on New Collection to add the video to a new collection, or choose an existing collection to add it there.

To access your saved videos on Facebook, do the following:

  1. Open the Facebook app or website on your iPhone, Android phone, or computer. Ensure you’re logged in to your Facebook account.
  2. Tap on the Watch tab to open Facebook Watch.
  3. Scroll to the right across the different categories (including For You, Live, Music, Gaming, etc.), and choose Saved.
  4. Scroll down to locate your saved video and press Play to watch it.

Note: You can also access the saved videos by going to the Menu from the top-right corner on your iPhone or Android device, and then tapping on Saved.

Save Facebook video to MP4 on any device

If you want to save Facebook videos offline to your Phone Gallery, Photos Library, or your computer, you can do so with the help of a third-party, web-based grabber and MP4 video converter tool. Here we’ll be using a web-based utility that will help you to save Facebook video clips on iPhone, Android, Mac, PC, or any other device that supports a web browser app.

The below steps will guide you to save and convert videos from Facebook to MP4 using an online video converter:

Note: Here, we have used an online service called FBDownloader for saving Facebook videos, but you can use any online grabber with support for Facebook video, such as SaveFrom.net, GetfVid, etc. The steps are the same or similar for all.

  1. Open the Facebook app or website on your iPhone, Android phone, or computer. Ensure you’re logged in to your Facebook account.
  2. Find the video that you want to save to your device.
  3. Tap on the Share button from the bottom of the video, and choose Copy Link.
  4. Head over to your preferred web browser (e.g., Chrome or Safari) and navigate to the FBDownloader website.
  5. Paste the copied link to the video post in the input box and hit Go. After a few seconds, the web app should generate links to download the video.
  6. Choose Download SD Quality or Download HD Quality, as per your quality preference.

The video will be downloaded to the Downloads folder on your computer or available in Safari’s Download Folder (iPhone) or the Gallery app (Android), in the preferred quality. You can also convert Facebook video to MP3 (audio only) by choosing the “Download MP3” option in Step #6.

Note: Some of the online services mentioned above may be blocked in your area. You might want to use a VPN service to circumvent such restrictions.

Thus, you can save any Facebook video on iPhone, Android phone, or computer using a suitable online video converter and grabber utility.
